Is 3D Mario All Stars Worth It?

Is 3D Mario All Stars Worth It?

Super Mario™ 3D All-Stars for Nintendo Switch - Nintendo Game Details

Nintendo has been dropping stuff like crazy lately! Pikmin 3 deluxe? Hyrule warriors: age of calamity? Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's fury? And now Super Mario 3D all stars, a game that contains Super Mario 64, Sunshine and galaxy. Now, I actually own all three of those games, so is it worth it? If you don't own it, the answer is, yes! Yes! Go grab it RIGHT NOW! But, if you do own all three of the games, let's break it down and see if it's worth the trouble. Let's take a look!

HD Graphics

One of the most obvious improvements is the graphics and framerate. (show side by sides while talking.) While they didn't give the same amount of care as say, Wind Waker HD, but it is still a fairly noticeable improvement. The textures look quite a bit more crisp and pops more. Mario 64 got some upgrades with 2D objects and some other things. And Mario Sunshine and Galaxy just look really good in HD!

It also looks as though they have also outright changed a few things, such as Mario being able to jump a bit higher in sunshine, and the mountain being a lot taller and less fat. There will probobly be some other changes to all three grames, but at the end of the day they'll be pretty much the same.

As for is this alone worth 60$... while it is really cool to see Sunshine and the others in HD, I'm not sure if it's worth 60$ when you already own all three.

Handheld mode

Here comes a natural improvment from just about anything ported to switch. It can now not only be played in HD on the TV, but you can also play it on the go! Imagine being out in the sun playing sunshine, playing Mario 64 on a roadtrip, or Galaxy out with the stars! When you think about it it's kinda a dream come true!

As for it it's worth 60 bucks just so you can play it in handheld or docked, I'd say that it's a maybe on this one.

Music player

One of the main things that Nintendo is pushing for besides the games themselves is the music player, where you can listen to the entirty of 64, sunshine and galaxy's soundtrack. You can even listen to it in sleep mode, like in smash ultimate. It will be pretty nice to be able to listen to any of their songs whenever you'd like, and I hope they put all the sounds and music in high definition as well. But I guess we'll see on that one.

But, is the music player alone worth the price? No, not really. Listening to the music is nice and all, but that a comvinience, not a selling point.

Whole new way to play

Super Mario Galaxy in particular could have an entire new control sceme! If your in handheld mode, you could instead of shaking the switch, you can simply press the Y button instead. Sunshine will also have a slightly different control scyme. On the gamecube, the R and L triggers could be held down a little, all the way, or anywhere in between. So when you use FLUDD, you could hold it down a little to squirt while running, or all the way to stand still and aim. But you can't do that on switch. So, I bet the ZR and ZL will be used for the full holding down and aiming and R and L for the running and squirt one. You can also now assign any button to anywhere you want so you can configer all three games in all sorts of ways!

But is it worth 60$? Maybe, This, the HD graphics, and the possible changes are probobly the biggest contenders for it being worth it. If your itching to replay these three amazing games in all their glory with slight changes and control changes, than go for it! Otherwise... I'm not sure.

Limited Time

Here is one reason that a LOT of people are gonna be getting these games! So, incase you didn't know, Super Mario 3D All Stars is a limited time game, and will only be avalible to purchase until the end of March, 2021. Which pretty much means that if you don't buy it pretty soon, it will be extreamly hard to get your hands on. But, if you already own all three games, should that really matter?

At the end of the day, I would say that it's really up to you, but to me, making this article helped me to decide and I bought it! So, I would say, yes! It is worth it! Not as worth it as if you havn't played any of these games before, but defiantly worth at least a consideration.

And there you have it! Do you think it's worth 60$? Let me know in the comments. Also, don't forget to like, share and subscribe to GamingTelescope. Thanks for taking a look!
