Super Mario Bros 35 Review

 Super Mario Bros 35 Review

Super Mario bros. 35 is a game that came out for free for all nintendo switch online subscribers where you compete against 35 other players and the last man standing wins. But, is it worth your time? Is it a good game and a good celibration of 35 years of Mario? Well, let's take a look!

Presentation

The presentation of the game looks nice, I'll be it vary bare-bones. It doesn't even tell you how to play the game, so you have to figure it all out for yourself. Other than that, you can choose to go into a 35 player match, a speshal match (assuming it's going on!), see your stats, and switch the controls. That's it. Well I guess it really doesn't need much more than that, it still would have been nice.

As for the music, it's actually pretty awesome! It reminds me of a combination of monkey ball and paper Mario. Next up is the gameplay!

GamePlay

The gameplay is super mario bros... but with a twist. Every enemy that you beat gets sent to one of the other players screens. The problem is, it also works the other way around. Before you know it, there will be screens filled with goombas, hammer bros, and even Bowsers. This can make matches quite tense and hecktic, and kinda feels like I'm playing a vary spammy level on Mario Maker! One of the other big additions is that you can spend 20 coins to get a random power-up, which comes in vary handy and was diffidently a nice addition.

For the most part matches are hectic and addicting, but they can start to slow once there are just a few people left, and your just waiting for someone to mess up. But other than that, the matches are really fun, especially when you start unlocking harder levels.

Oh, and Super Mario Bros. 35 has a leveling system as well. The more matches you do, the more xp you get. Every once and a while when you level up you unlock a new icon, which are fun to collect, but don't serve any real meaning or value.

Final Thoughts

Super Mario Bros. 35 is a fun, I'll be it flawed game. While there are many fun aspects of it, such as plowing through hoards of enemies with a fire flower, managing your time, and winning against 35 other players, it also has some issues. Such as not telling you how to play, some matches dragging on, some cheap and unfair deaths to name a few. Overall, it's a pretty solid game and I do recommend playing it. Sadly, it will only be available until March 31, so if your thinking about playing it, you better play it while you can!
