Nintendo News For July 7th Includes New Odyssey Concept Art, Wario Ware Gold, New Bandi Namco Games Coming, Big First Party Games TBA and More!
Welcome to another Nintendo news article! I'm Programmer12864, and I will be your host! Let's see what's being coo... sigh, sorry, I'll stop now. Alright, more news. Let's get into them!
Retro Studios Rumor Says Retro Might Be Closing Down Soon!
I, for one, hope this rumor isn't true! Some former Retro employees don't have anything good to say about Retro, such as poor communication issues and even going so far as to say that half the team is expecting Retro to shut down! Here's what they said,
Nintendo Releasing Three New 2DS XL Models
The most surprising of the three is the Minecraft themed one because Minecraft is owned by Microsoft!
Part of the Reason Nintendo is Still Supporting the 3DS is for Parents and Young Kids
The 3DS is still going strong! Game Informer managed to secure an interview with Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime who talked to the publication about the company’s plans for the system going forward. Here's what Reggie had to say on the matter,
“Here in the U.S., through May, it’s up 10 percent year on year. It continues to be a vibrant system. The reasons are, for the target audience we are going after – parents with kids – we see this as a great first device for that five, six, seven, and eight-year-old. The portability, the ability for the hardware to take damage and survive the drop test, over a thousand games available with new ones coming, that’s what’s driving the performance. It becomes a gateway for these kids that turn 10, 11, and 12 to then jump on to Nintendo Switch. It’s a strategy that’s working, and we’re going to continue to support that platform. We have more games coming, and certainly into 2019, we see it as a key part of our business.”
What do you think? Should Nintendo still be supporting the 3ds, or should they drop it? Let us know in the comments.
The Big News... More Nintendo Switch Games Coming THIS Year!
Some people (myself included!) were surprised at how few games were at E3, and that there were still a few months without any first party games coming out. Apparently, there's more coming that we don't know about yet!
Here's what Nintendo's President had to say on the matter,
“Kimishima-san was also asked about Nintendo’s presentation at E3 and the fact that it caused a sharp decline in the stock value. He explained that the company is preparing to disclose more information to the customers at an appropriate timing, including products that will be launched during the year-end shopping battle. It’s not yet time to announce the full lineup.”
“That being said, he listed the games that will be released before the end of the fiscal year, mentioning that it’s a “powerful lineup.” Nintendo aims to maintain and expand the momentum of the Switch towards the year-end shopping battle (this is a widely used definition in Japan for the shopping rush at the end of the year). He believes that more detailed information can be disclosed to the customers in the future.”

Wario Ware Gold New Prologue Trailer and Demo on 3DS
Wario Ware fans rejoice! (unless you wanted it on switch, in which case you'll have to wait a while!) There is not one, but two new Wario Ware Gold news. First off is this trailer above. One thing to note is we've never seen Wario talk this much, and I've never heard him in Japanese!
The second bit of news is that there is a Wario Ware Demo out RIGHT NOW on the 3DS eshop. So if your excited for this game, or even if you are considering it... what are you waiting for?
Commercial Break!
Welcome to another commercial break where we take a look at (mostly hilarious!) video game commercials, both old (mostly old!) and new! First off, were taking a look at this old Pokémon Red commercial with a strange way of saying the game is Jam packed with Pokémon? I don't know, but it sure scared a few kids back in the 90s!
And next up is this creepy 80s commercial right here! I think all my feelings for this can be summed up in one word, WHYYYYY!?! Not sure what Nintendo was trying to say here. Were they trying to motivate us to prove them wrong? Were they saying the NES is hard? I don't know but what I do know is whatever there trying to say, there saying it wrong.
And now, back to the news.
