Paper Mario: The Origami King Thoughts and Impressions
Paper Mario: The Origami King Thoughts
Holy Cow guys! Nintendo just dropped a new paper Mario game out of the blue, and so far it looks pretty insane! Okay, so I'm only going to be covering my immidiate thoughts and impressions so far in this video, and then in upcoming videos I'll be talking about possible ways they could take this game and getting more in-depth on how I think the combat will be and all that fun stuff. So, let's talk about it!
Okay, let's start with the story. The story looks pretty awesome to me with the evil Origami king wanting to turn everyone into Origami's, including peach and most of Bowser's minions, so Mario, Bowser everyone made of paper will be working together and starting a rebellion against the evil Origamis. I actually love the story so far, like this is SOOO much better then Color splash and sticker star with the story alone! I love how they're going back into some slightly darker territory, like Peach being evil.
I also love how it looks like they almost turned Bowser into an origomi' so he's all folded up and is pretty much a walking head, and I think it's pretty hilarious! I do wonder how Bowser will help Mario though this adventure though.
Moving on to the art style, I think it looks gorgeous, I'll be it a lot like color splash. It looks like there will be some cool, vibrant locals, and with Bowser teaming up with Mario there will be more variety to the NPC's than toads. Though I still want a lot more variety like in thousand year door.
I love how the music sounds too, it sounds like a more modern version of Thousand year door's music. I am concerned about this game for a few reasons though. While it's a definite step in the right direction, I'm worried that it won't get close to how great the thousand year door was with it's amazing characters, plot and combat system.
And that brings us to the last topic, which is the combat. While I can't get too into it since I'm working on an entire video on the subject, I do think that once again, it looks much better than color splash's and it does look like the crowd is back and that the cards are gone. THANK GOODNESS! The spinning mechanic looks kinda cool, but I'm not sure how I feel about it yet.
So, at the end of the day, it looks like a good compromise between color splash and the thousand year door, and man am I pumped, I'll be it still a bit skeptical to learn more about this game.
And there you have it! What do you think? Will this be as good as Thousand Year Door? Or are you still not sure yet? Share your thoughts in the comments below. And don't forget to like, share and subscribe if you liked this article. Thanks for taking a look!
