My Thoughts on the Super Smash Bros Ultimate Direct
My Thoughts on the Super Smash Bros Ultimate Direct
Sorry I'm late, but, incase you missed it, Nintendo recently had a direct focusing on Smash. And I'm here to break down my thoughts on it.
Is It Just Me, Or Does Smash Seem to be Getting Darker by the Direct?
One thing I've noticed is that not only has Nintendo been taking more risks, there going a tad more adult as well. I mean, just look at the reveal for Simon Belmont! Epic yes, but scaring as well! I mean, would we have seen Luigi's soul be ripped out of his body and his body fall to the floor lifeless five years ago? Didn't think so.
As for the reveal itself, it was epic! I am a big Luigi's Mansion fan so to see Luigi face real monsters were from my dreams! That is until Luigi DIED! Then Simon Epicly cracks his whip at death himself. I must say though, that creepy face outside the window is a bit much for a kid friendly game, even if this is castlevania. I'm excited for the new stage and to face death, frankenstein and even Dracula!
The Menus and Crazy Numbers And More
I'll just assume that you've all seen it and just dive right into it. The numbers are crazy awesome! 900 tracks, 103 stages, characters in counting! This is insane, if you weren't convinced before, you certainly should be now! The menu's are sleek, beautiful and look like they work like a charm! I can't wait to listen to all those tracks!
The new modes, pokemon and assist trophies look great! I have no complaints and can't wait to see and use them all!
The new ecco fighters look good as well. Dark Samas looks cool, and surprise surprise, another Fire Emblem fighter. And the monster hunter boss stage looks pretty sweet!
King K. Rool
The reveal trailer was a nice change of pace from the dark reveal trailers (first Ridley beating Mega Man and Mario, then Death slicing Luigi!) but you'll notice one thing. Ultimate is bringing in the villains! Which I, for one, don't mind! You'll also notice a lot of hearo v.s villains reveal trailers thus far.
I also think K. Rool looks like a lot of fun to play and I'm excited to try him out!
And there you have it. I was mostly positive about this direct. I still have mixed feelings and a crushed childhood thanks to the Castlvania reveal trailer. So what did you think? Was your childhood scarred for life too? Let us know in the comments. Also, don't forget to like, share and subscribe to NintendosView.
