Surprise! Reveals in Pokémon World Championships
Mr. Tsunekazu Ishihara, president of The Pokémon Company, welcomed the movie’s director, Rob Letterman, and actors Justice Smith and Kathryn Newton to the stage for the surprise reveal. The stars also engaged the room full of the world’s best Pokémon players in a chant of “Pikachu!” which was recorded for use in the upcoming film, premiering in theaters May 10, 2019. I would have loved to have been there! Speaking of Detective Pikachu...
Detective Pikachu Will Have Photorealistic Pokémon!
We've been hearing a lot about this movie as of late, and that hasn't stopped yet! This time, we find out that the Pokémon will look vary realistic! Here's what Rob Letterman, the movies director, had to say to IGN.
“They’re incredibly real, you should think of it as the way [Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy character] Rocket Raccoon sits in the movie as if he’s really there. It’s that technology. The same group of people that worked on that, or worked on Jungle Book. We’ve got the people on it that worked on Fantastic Beasts. They’re technically, some of the most high-end visual effects in the world,” Letterman said. “It’s completely photorealistic, like they are alive and in the movie.”Some of THE MOST high-end visuals effects in the world!?! Holy cow! We might be in for a treat!

Owlboy Creator Makes Mock Up of Chrono Trigger Sequel
Chrono Trigger is considered one of the best JRPG's out there, a great battle system, graphics, multiple endings and more!
Simon S. Andersen, who is the creator behind the lovely Owlboy has recreated what a sequel to the game could look and I think it looks great! Square Enix, hire them!
“I’ve been making mockups for hypothetical game sequels for fun for many years. Generally all of them are still images where try to capture what made people connect to the original games and see where else I could take the concept, while still being recognizable. After finishing a massive game project spanning a decade of development, I was ready to tackle a new series. I had already known for years I wanted to explore a hypothetical sequel to Chrono Trigger, Cross and Radical Dreamers, but it took me a full year until I figured out how I wanted it to look. This has been my most ambitious spare time mockup so far, spanning about two months worth of work and featuring music by Jonathan Geer. If the sequel that was planned years ago was revived, this is likely how I would do it. This video is not endorsed or licensed by SQUARE ENIX CO., LTD and is not a game under development. This is made only for fun.”
Commercial Break!
Hm, samurai hu? Didn't see any of those in Melee. The main reason you can tell this is a GameCube commercial is the cube that there fighting in and showing gameplay, not the funniest commercial we've covered, but not the one that makes the most sense!
Can I just say... that was trying WAY to hard to be cool! That was pretty sad actually. Thankfully, there much better at this with the switch. Here comes a Japanese Commercial!
What tha heck was that?!? That was so weird it was hilarious! Link dancing while saving Zelda! What? Anyway, back to the news!
Dragon Ball FighterZ Japanese Switch Trailer
As I'm sure you know, the crazy fighting game Dragon Ball Fighter Z is coming to the Nintendo Switch. Its coming to Japan in a month, so it makes sense why we'll start seeing trailers for it. Here is one of them!
Fox Being in Starlink Was Nintendo's Idea
When we found out that we could play as Fox in Ubisofts new game, Starlink: Battle For Atlas, I, like many others, was freaking out! I can't wait to play as Fox! But apparently, it wasn't Ubisofts idea like we all assumed.
The news was revealed by Kotaku in an interview with Laurent Malville, who is the creative director of the game.
“We were like “Wow, incredible!”…to present to Nintendo. So I did the demo and at the end of the presentation, I remember one of the representatives asking us “Are you OK if I come back with more people?” and we were like “Yes, please! We’re here to show the game to as many people as we can!” – and so they came back two times, three times, four times, and they came back with incredible people – so we had the director of Mario Odyssey was there and we had the director of ARMS and Mario Kart and more like… “OK..” two times, three times… up to five times, and the fifth time that they came it was with Reggie Fills-Aime and so on. So I’ll let you imagine… we’re like ‘OK… what’s happening?’”
Malville and his team had made an impression. “Several weeks later we learn from Ubisoft HQ in Paris that we were invited to present Starlink to Nintendo HQ, to Mr Miyamoto and the original Star Fox team, and it was not only to present Starlink but also to present what the collaboration between Nintendo and Ubisoft would look like with Fox.”
So the collaboration was Nintendo’s idea? “As far as I know yes – maybe HQ had talked together with Nintendo, I don’t know about that part, but as far as we know yes. It’s after them seeing the game at E3 and then them inviting us to Kyoto that it started for us.”
