First Detective Pikachu Movie Trailer Is Out And My Thoughts on It

I'll be honest, my first reaction was, "Woah! What is this! Pikachu looks like a walking teddy bear over here! It's weirding me out! It's gonna give me nightmares!" But, then I watched it a few more times to try to sort out my vary mixed feeling. So, this is the Detective Pikachu movie!

         I must say... this is a little different then the anime! First I'll start with...

Animation

As you saw above, I honestly don't know how I feel about the animation! It's... certainly different and takes some getting use to. Some Pokémon look cool, like Charazard and Graninja while others I'm not sure about, like Pikachu and Syduck, and others... I thought looked pretty bad, like Jigglypuff and Mr. Mymn. 

         But as far as animation quality, it is fairly lifelike it looks like. I think it's more comparable to Patington than Jungle Book, but it is good.

Action and Pacing

The movie from what I could tell was well paced, from the mystery of his Dad, to his and Pikachu's relationship, to the action. It also looks like its going to be filled with humor thanks to Pikachu over here!

Now as far as action goes, the action looks great to me!  Looks like they'll have to face a couple Pokémon, slide down some tubes, solve mysteries and face some crazy action scenes! The action looks great!

And there you have it! Sorry, that's all I can review from just a trailer. In the end... it looks like it could be quite good, if I ever get over how weird Pokémon looking "Life like" looks!
