Which Luigi's Mansion Game Is Luigi's Mansion 3 the Most Like?

Which  Luigi's Mansion Game Is Luigi's Mansion 3 the Most Like?
Now, Luigi's Mansion, besides Mario Maker and Link's Awakening, is the game that I'm most excited for in 2019, but then I started wondering. Is Luigi's mansion 3 more like my favorite Luigi's mansion game, the original? Or is it more like the sequel, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon. Well, let's take a look!

Graphics
Luigi's Mansion and Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon have two vary distinct art styles. The original went for a more realistic approach, showing off all the cool lighting effects and shadows that the GameCube could do. Dark moon, on the other hand, goes for a more cartoony and simpler design, though, that could be partly because it was on the 3DS.

But in the end, it's fairly easy to tell just by looking at the trailer that the graphics are much closer to Dark Moon than the original. Sigh!

Music
Luigi's Mansion and Luigi's Mansion dark moon's music and feel are just about as different as the graphics. Luigi's mansion re-uses it's main theme for most of the adventure with all kinds of cool and spooky arrangements, often harmonizing with Luigi as he nervously hums along. The music also sounds vary GameCube-y, like with the funky beat in Professor E. Gadd's lab.
Dark Moon however, while still spooky, gives off a more atmospheric vibe. Just take a listen!
Now, we didn't hear too much of the music from the 30 second trailer, but from what I heard, it sounded way more like Dark Moon. But what about the Ghosts?

Ghosts
In the original Luigi's Mansion there were two types of ghosts. Portrait ghosts, and normal ghosts. The portrait ghosts were of people and looked quite spooky! You had to figure out there weakness in order to see there heart and suck 'em up, which was always fun to figure out! Normal ghosts came in all kinds of shapes, lives, colors and attacks, and you had to suck them up at the right time. Which is the way I prefer it!

Dark Moon, on the other hand, only has normal ghosts, however, they do much more varied things than in Luigi's mansion. Like playing catch. However, I also feel like they are a bit of a minion approach to the ghosts. While the ones in Luigi's Mansion were kinda goofy, but still spooky,  in Dark Moon there mostly goofy!

But anyway, which is closer to Luigi's Mansion 3's ghosts? It looks like they kinda combined the two, but they sound and look a lot more like the Dark Moon ghosts.

Vacuum and Gameplay
Luigi's Mansion and Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon also have some vary different Gameplay! In the original, you would go from room to room solving puzzles, sucking up plenty of ghosts, collecting keys and getting Luigi terrified!
Dark Moon, on the other hand, was a lot more mission and puzzle based. While some of the basic ideas are still the same, like the fact that your sucking up ghosts, for the most part the two Gameplay styles were fairly different. Another way Dark Moon is different is with the unlockables. While in the original you gain the power to shoot out fire, water and ice to solve puzzles, Dark Moon offers a much wider variety of unlockable.

Now, with just 30 seconds of footage it's hard to say on this one, but the unlockables seem to be more like Dark Moon, however, the Gameplay looks a bit more like the original to me.

So In Conclusion
It looks like, in the end, Luigi's Mansion 3 is taking a lot more inspiration from Dark Moon than the original, with it having a similar art style, ghosts, music and power-ups, but that's not to say it didn't take inspiration from the original. The ghosts may be a little closer to the original and the Gameplay may be more exploration based instead of mission based.
