Will Mario Maker 2 And Link's Awakening Be Multiplayer?

Will Mario Maker 2 And Link's Awakening Be Multiplayer?
Boy, wasn't that Nintendo direct something! We got Assasins Creed 3, Box Boy, a Link's Awakening remake and a new Super Mario Maker game. And today we will be talking about Both Mario Maker, and Link's Awakening, but I'll cover Mario Maker first!
While the trailer for Super Mario Maker showed us a bunch of new stuff like slopes, 3D World sections and much more... it hinted at something just as big. Multiplayer. So, will Mario Maker be Multiplayer? Well, let's take a look!

The Hints
First we'll be looking at the hints, and then we will take a look at how it could play out!
So first off, there are quite a few hints for multiplayer. The First is the official cover art for Super Mario Maker 2. It shows Mario, Luigi, blue toad and toadette, the 4 main characters you can play as in New Super Mario Bros Deluxe. And you'll notice that Mario, Luigi and blue toad are all wearing construction clothes, while toadette has a cat suit on.
That not enough evidence for you? Well, if you look closely at the trailer you'll notice an icon that has a red and a green figure right by each other, possibly to trigger 2 player mode.
And finally, on Nintendo's website you can find that the number of players is to be determined. Now that all that's covered, let's get into how the multiplayer could work.

Playing Levels With a Friend?
One thing they could do is have one player build the level, and be able to play the level together simuaniously, which has never happened before for Super Mario Bros, 1, 3 and world.
Another possibility is that the players could take turns and see who does better, but I don't find this one vary likely. It's also possible that you could work together on the levels, which I think would be really cool!

If It's Not Multiplayer, Than What Does The Icon Mean?
Now, I really do think that Mario Maker 2 will be multiplayer, especially since Luigi is constantly being shown working with Mario, however, just in case, I'll theorize about the icon on none multiplayer things.
One thing it could be is you switching between characters, so if you want it to be a toadette level, you could pick toadette. It also occurred to me that it could easily be a combination of the two.

But, Will Link's Awakening Be Multiplayer?
While Mario Maker has plenty of hints at it being multiplayer, things get a bit harder with Link's Awakening. The only hint we have is on Nintendo's official website the number of players is, to be determined, just like Mario Maker. But this could easily be nothing! And there aren't any hints in the trailer, so let's put on our detective hats for a second!

Let's assume Link's Awakening is multiplayer, how would that play out? I could see it happening two ways. Number 1 is there being an extra mode where you can compete with friends like in four swords, and two, playing the entire adventure with a second player being able to drop in and out with ease, like Pokémon Let's Go.

My guess is on the second one. That one fits modern Nintendo way more, with a parent or friend being able to drop in and help you where your stuck, or just playing the whole adventure together. When playing together, it might play a bit like four swords but otherwise be the same.

In Conclusion
Super Mario Maker has dropped plenty of hints from the trailer, to the official website and is quite likely to happen. It would allow you to build and play levels together and would be a ton of fun!
Link's Awakening, however, has only dropped one hint that could just be nothing, however, the game could easily work as a multiplayer experience and work similar to four swords and Pokémon Let's Go, allowing the second player to drop in and out at will.
