Will Detective Pikachu Be Rated PG or PG-13?

There have been rumors floating around that the Detective Pikachu Movie (starring Ryan Reynolds) will be, in fact rated PG-13 instead of the assumed PG. So, let's put on our theory caps again and try and figure out what the Detective Pikachu Movie will be rated. Let's take a look!

Language

We're going to be breaking it down into a few different sections of why a movie would be rated PG or PG-13 and judge accordingly, and I thought, what better place to start than language?

Let's look at the trailer for hints. From what I heard, it was all clean except for Pikachu using God's name in vain, which, even if you use that enough times, it will only get you a PG rating. 

     However, could this hint for their being actual swear words in the film? I know we all can imagine  Ryan Reynolds swearing, but would they really make Pikachu swear? 

Well I didn't expect them to have Pikachu use God's name in vain, I highly doubt there will be much swearing in the film, if any.

Violence 

 If it was rated PG-13 for any reason, I feel like Language or Violence would be the most likely reason.

       However, could the Detective Pikachu movie be violent enough to get a PG-13 rating? Now, the Sonic movie is debatable, but I highly doubt we'll see enough violence to give it a PG-13 rating. 

     

 There might be a death (probably a fake one!) there could be some tense moments, even some battles, but I doubt it would go PG-13 level violence, unless Charazard takes a nasty bite!

Dirty Jokes

Will there be some Crude or even a little adult humor. Probably a little, but to me for the most part it looked like it was aiming to be family friendly to all audiences. 

Will there be some crude humor? Probably a little. Dirty enough jokes to give it a full PG-13 rating? Not likely.

Suggestive Themes and...Other Things

(Uncomfortable silence) Well, I saved the hardest to talk about for last. Will have some certain... uh, suggestive stuff that would give this site a PG-13 rating! Could there be just a tad suggestive content? Possibly. Like use of Alcohol in one scene or something. But outright s_x is VARY unlikely. There may be a kiss or something, but nothing crazy.

 Conclusion

In conclusion, I would be shocked if the Detective Pikachu movie would be rated PG-13. But, I am almost positive it will get a PG rating and can be enjoyed by any one of any age. (unless they're terrified of CGI Charazard or something!)
